Minute to Win It

What it is & Why It Works

“One Minute, Tons of Memories”

Minute to Win It games are a perfect way to bring families and friends together for some light-hearted, screen-free fun this holiday season! These short, energetic games fit groups of all kinds. All you need are household items, a sense of humor, and a timer set for one minute.

HOW TO PLAY

Game 1: Holiday Cup Stack

Objective: Stack as many plastic cups into a tower as possible before time runs out!

How to Play:

  • Each person gets a set of plastic or paper cups (around 10-12 per player).
  • When the timer starts, players race to stack the cups into a tower.
  • If the tower collapses, they must start over until the timer ends. The player with the tallest standing tower wins!

Great For: Kids, teens, adults, and any group!

Game 2: Ornament Relay

Objective:Balance an ornament on a spoon, race to the end of a designated area, and come back without dropping it!

How to Play:

  • Each player starts with a spoon and a small, lightweight ornament (or other small object) on it.
  • The goal is to carry the ornament to the finish line and back without using their hands to adjust it.
  • If the ornament drops, they must return to the start and try again. The player who completes the relay the most times in one minute wins!

Great For: Families with young children, friends, or any family member up for a bit of friendly competition.

Game 3: Cookie Face Race

Objective: Move a cookie from your forehead to your mouth—using only your face muscles!

How to Play:

  • Each player leans their head back and places a cookie on their forehead.
  • Without using their hands, they have to wiggle, scrunch, and move their face muscles to guide the cookie into their mouth.
  • The first person to successfully get the cookie into their mouth (or whoever’s closest at the end of one minute) wins!

Great For: Small children and adults alike! This game is silly, guaranteed to get everyone laughing, and works great for family or friend groups.

Game 4: Jingle Bell Shake

Objective: Shake the most jingle bells out of a tissue box strapped to your back!

How to Play:

  • Take an empty tissue box, fill it with a few small jingle bells (or any small items), and attach it to the player’s waist using string or a belt.
  • Players have one minute to jump, wiggle, and dance to shake as many jingle bells out as possible.
  • The player who empties the box first or has the fewest bells left after one minute wins!

Great For: Families with small children, teens, or adults. This game is high-energy and full of laughter, perfect for getting everyone up and moving.

Game 5: Marshmallow Toss

Objective:Toss as many marshmallows as possible into a teammate’s cup!

How to Play:

  • Divide into teams of two. One teammate holds a small cup, while the other stands a few feet away with a handful of marshmallows.
  • The goal is to toss marshmallows across to the teammate holding the cup, aiming to get as many in as possible.
  • The team with the most marshmallows in their cup when the timer ends wins!

Great For: Kids, empty nesters, and friend groups! Adjust the tossing distance based on age or group to make it more fun.
