This “Good Part / Bad Part” activity is a powerful way to remind each other that life is better shared—the good, the bad, and everything in between. This activity is a great one to carry out every time you get together. It allows you and your closest circle to reconnect often, support each other through the bad times, and celebrate with each other during the wins.

*PRO TIP: This is a great way to get everyone involved in sharing life updates. Use it to catch up and celebrate even the small wins. Follow up with, “What surprised you most this week?” to add extra depth.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Gather together at the table for dinner.

2. Once seated, take turns sharing a “bad part” of your day followed by a “good part.” For example: “A bad part of my day was when ___ happened, but a good part was ____.” This shows that even on tough days, there’s always something positive to appreciate.

3. After you've shared about your days, you can choose to go around again and reflect on an experience you've shared together either throughout that day or the year, discussing both the good and bad parts of the shared moment.

It’s not just about talking—it's about listening to each other’s experiences, laughing together over the good, and offering support for the bad. This activity reminds us that the most meaningful connections come from sharing life’s highs and lows with the people we care about.
