Kielbasa is a Polish word for traditional Polish sausage. In the old days the distinction between a Polish and German Sausage was the coarseness of the meat. Now the main difference is the spices that are used. The Kielbasa will have a mild spicy flavor from the red and black peppers used in the ingredients. The last step in adding a distinct flavor to our smoked sausage is actually smoking the sausage with real hickory wood smoke. Liquid smoke is never used! (7507)
